communicating the memory of a company or an institution means giving shape to its identity, unique and irreplaceable.
arkivo is kiné’s archive digitization and enhancement lab: a space where archival materials are digitized, curated, and transformed into powerful tools capable of conveying the historical and emotional dimension of your organization.
arkivo was not created as a commercial service, but as an internal tool within our production company.
We began by digitizing and enhancing amateur and institutional archives on obsolete media in order to make films: personal, corporate, and family memories transformed into auteur works. This perspective, at once creative, emotional, and documentary, remains our distinctive hallmark today.
Over time, however, the lab has grown, as has the demand for a reliable and specialized service for those working with audiovisual materials. Archival awareness, technical innovation, and creative reuse have been the pillars of this growth.
today, arkivo is a place where past and future meet: a high-precision technical lab, but also a center for research and cultural production. From the organization and professional digitization of archives emerge films, installations, audio documentaries, exhibitions, and artistic projects that continue to keep memory alive.
we handle a wide range of analog and professional formats: ½” video, VHS, Hi8, Betacam, U-matic, DVCAM, MiniDV, 16mm, 9.5mm, 8mm, Super 8, and many others. Each transfer is carried out with the utmost care for the original materials, striving for the highest technical quality even with the most complex and obsolete formats.
we handle magnetic tapes, cassettes, and vinyl records.
We apply sound restoration and cleaning techniques to recover even the most damaged materials.
we are guided by the principles of an archival approach: we digitize materials in the most faithful way possible to the original. However, when necessary or upon request, we carry out restoration work to enhance video and audio quality, including noise reduction, color correction, image restoration, and upscaling.
we offer solutions for the long-term preservation of metadata, as well as for the protection and security of digital data.
also thanks to partnerships with other industry professionals, we develop dedicated platforms for the access and sharing of digitized archives.
we support organizations and institutions in the creative process that transforms archives into exhibitions, films, podcasts, and cultural projects.
we support our clients in identifying co-financing opportunities through projects designed to access national and European funds dedicated to the digitization and enhancement of cultural heritage.
arkivo project is funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU – under the PNRR call for proposals
