He leaves the film unfinished and begins documenting his own journey from Turkey to Italy. Amid electoral turmoil, he enters the world of migrant smuggling, filming his daily struggles and the political climate that has shaped his fate. Captured at the border and sent to a refugee camp, he spends months in exile in Athens, slowly confronting the harsh reality of being a refugee and the uncertainty of ever reaching safety.
